COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today that Rapids 2 midfielder Nathan Tchoumba was named to U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team for their upcoming international training camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain from September 21 to October 4.
Tchoumba, 15, will join the U-17 squad under Head Coach Jeremy Hall for a series of four international friendlies. The team will open the camp against Scotland on September 26, followed by matches against the Netherlands on September 29, Belgium on October 1, and France on October 3.
The midfielder has earned multiple call-ups to represent the United States at the youth international level, participating in training camps and international friendlies with the U-15 and U-16 sides, as well as the Concacaf Under-15 Championship. This marks Tchoumba’s first call-up to the U.S. U-17 side under Hall. Most recently, Tchoumba was selected for the U-16 side’s domestic training camp in February.
The Aurora, Colorado, born midfielder has made an impact in his first season as a professional across all levels of the club. After impressing early in the year, Tchoumba made his First Team debut on April 14, 2026, in the club’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Union Omaha. His appearance made him the youngest player in Rapids history to do so at 15 years and 141 days old.
After becoming the youngest player to sign with Rapids 2 on January 16, 2026, Tchoumba has established himself as a key contributor for the second team this season. Since making his professional debut on March 1, Tchoumba has started 17 of his 21 appearances, logging 1,235 minutes and recording the first professional assist of his career. Following the conclusion of his Rapids 2 contract at the end of the season, Tchoumba will join the first team as a Homegrown player on a contract through the 29-30 MLS season, with club options for the 30-31 and 31-32 seasons.
