Academy Update: Senior teams record back-to-back wins in Texas -

It was a ‘win-win’ for the three senior sides this past weekend, as the U-15s, U-16/17s, and U-18/19s all claimed back-to-back success in Texas.

First up, three goals apiece for all the teams on Saturday in respective victories over Houston Dynamo Youth.

The U-18/19s were 3-0 up through Sebastian Anderson, Alejandro Padilla, and Eben Noverr before Collins Muigai Gitau snatched a late consolation for the home side.

Jason Robles hit the game winner for the U-16/17s in a 3-2 win. Erik Bushey’s boys had trailed twice, and leveled twice, courtesy of Darren Yapi and Logan Dorsey, before Robles completed the comeback 11 minutes from time.

The U-15s were 3-0 winners, thanks to Alan Salgado, Thane Latzig, and Luke Robinson.

All three sides then claimed 1-0 wins over Houston Texans on Sunday.

Heading into the winter break, the U-18/19s enjoy a 6-1-3 record, and are on a nine-game unbeaten run. The U-16/17s are 4-3-2, with the U-15s 9-0-1 and without a goal against in their previous five outings.

Elsewhere, the U-14s triumphed 5-0 at home to Real Colorado. The scorers were Ernesto Carbajal, Eric Gonzalez, Tomas Alberola, Keith Chavarria, and an own goal.

The U-13s were defeated 3-1. They found themselves 2-0 down inside the first 13 minutes, but struck back through Devyn Mena, only for the visitors to restore their two-goal cushion late in the game.

Both U-12 teams were triumphant over Real Colorado. Among the scorers, Martín Flores netted a hat-trick in the early game, before Taban Luna and Nolan Fuerst hit two apiece in the later contest.

Though the senior sides break from Development Academy duty, the U-12s, U-13s, and U-14s have one last game this coming Saturday, when they travel south to face Pride Switchbacks DA in Colorado Springs.
