Academy Update: U-14s are unbeaten in seven games, senior teams had a bye week -

Eric Gonzalez scored twice as the Colorado Rapids U-14s defeated FC Boulder 3-1 at home on Saturday in their U.S. Soccer Development Academy encounter.

Sureel McCain opened the scoring for the Rapids late in the first half, before Gonzalez added a second in the 63rd minute. Boulder responded through Cameron Gerber, before Gonzalez restored the two-goal cushion.

That is now seven successive wins for the U-14s, who will again put their 100 per cent record on the line this coming weekend, when they host Real Colorado. The two teams met at the end of September, with the Rapids edging a 1-0 win through Kevin Tlaxcalteco.

Three goals inside the opening 31 minutes - from Theo Scott, Liam Steeves, and Ibrahim Al Saaid - put the U-13s in control of their game against FC Boulder. Jacob Lahlou added a fourth just past the hour mark, before Victor Torres got on the scoresheet for the visitors.

The U-13s are now 6-1-0 for the season, and host the only blemish on that record this weekend, when Real Colorado come to Commerce City.

Both U-12s teams were triumphant in their respective matches against FC Boulder. In the early game, Martin Flores found the net on four occasions, with Ethan Merrigan and Andrew Harwell (both 2) also among the goals. The later game saw a hat-trick for Taban Luna and two for Blake Elliott.

While the U-12, U-13s, and U-14s are home to Real Colorado this weekend, the senior DA sides await the visit of FC Dallas.
