COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Colorado Rapids Academy player Adam Beaudry has been called into the U.S. U-17 Men’s Youth National Team training camp for April, the club announced today.

Beaudry, a goalkeeper for the Rapids U-17 Academy Team, will train with the U.S. from April 17 to 24 as the squad continues its preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place from November 10 to December 2 in a yet-to-be-determined host nation. The South Florida based camp is the first training camp that Gonzalo Segares’ side has hosted since qualifying to the tournament during the Concacaf U-17 Championship in Guatemala this past February.

“It is great to see Adam’s performances once again recognized with another call up to the U-17 Men’s Youth National Team,” said Chris Cartlidge, Rapids Academy Technical Director. “Adam has been in excellent form since the Concacaf Championship with some very impressive displays during the Generation adidas Cup. He continues to collect invaluable experiences and keeps rising to the challenges presented. Adam strives to set a great example for his peers in the Academy and Rapids 2 with a relentless work ethic and commitment to his development. We are very proud of Adam and his accomplishments and look forward to supporting him as he takes the next steps in his journey.”

The U.S. was one of four teams to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup at February’s Concacaf U-17 Championship in Guatemala. The World Cup was initially set to be held in Peru, but FIFA withdrew the nation’s hosting rights earlier this month. The new host nation has not yet been announced.

Beaudry is one of eight players returning to the team from the World Cup qualifying roster. During his time at the Concacaf U-17 Championship, the 16-year-old helped his team to a spot in the final where the U.S. fell short to Mexico in a 3-1 loss. Beaudry made three starts for the U-17s during the tournament and recorded two clean sheets and three wins for his side.

A native of O'Fallon, Missouri, Beaudry is entering his second year with the Rapids organization after a successful youth career with Real Colorado. He currently occupies a starting position on the Rapids Academy U-17 team and has maintained three clean sheets in 15 starts in the team’s 2022-23 MLS NEXT season. Beaudry had a standout 2022 season, earning a professional debut with Rapids 2 on July 27, 2022, against Premier League 2 side Wolves U-21. He was invited to attend preseason with the Rapids first team in Querétaro, Mexico, ahead of the 2023 season.
