Everything You Need to Know: 2022 Generation adidas Cup

The Rapids Academy is set to face off against some of the biggest clubs in the region as they compete in the Generation adidas Cup from April 9-17 in Frisco, Texas. Featuring 80 professional academies from 10 countries, the U-15 and U-17 tournament features the largest field in the 13-year history of the competition.

All 28 current MLS clubs will have academy representation in both divisions, while 2023 MLS expansion side St. Louis CITY SC will field a team in the U-17 division.

The Rapids Academy will send both a U-15 and U-17 team to the tournament starting this weekend and will face clubs Universidad Nacional, CA River Plate, New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC, LA Galaxy and Remo Stars Beyond Limits Football Academy.

U-15 Schedule

Saturday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. MT - Universidad Nacional vs Colorado Rapids

Sunday, April 10 at 4:00 p.m. MT - CA River Plate vs Colorado Rapids

Monday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. MT - Colorado Rapids vs New York Red Bulls

U-17 Schedule

Sunday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. MT - Remo Stars Beyond Limits Football Academy vs Colorado Rapids

Monday, April 12 at 8:00 a.m MT - Colorado Rapids vs Toronto FC

Tuesday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m. MT - LA Galaxy vs Colorado Rapids

Competition Format

All teams competing in GA Cup are guaranteed to compete in seven matches and matches will be 60 minutes in length, comprised of two 30-minute halves. Select matches played inside Toyota Stadium, the home of FC Dallas, will feature 35-minute halves.

How to Watch

More than 30 games throughout Generation adidas Cup will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube. Additional GA Cup broadcast details, including the schedule of games featured, will be announced in advance of the tournament.
