COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – The Colorado Rapids announced today the club has called up Nathan Tchoumba and Bryan Dowd from the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side on Short-Term Agreements. The pair will be available for selection for the Rapids’ MLS regular season match against Real Salt Lake on Saturday, August 29.
Tchoumba, 15, is receiving his fourth and final Short-Term Agreement for the 2026 MLS season. The 15-year-old made his First Team debut on April 14, 2026, in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup against Union Omaha. His appearance made him the youngest player to appear in a match for the Rapids across all competitions in club history. In MLS NEXT Pro this season, Tchoumba has logged 18 appearances with 996 minutes played.
Dowd, 24, is receiving his first Short-Term Agreement as a member of the Rapids, but his third overall for the 2026 MLS Season. The goalkeeper was acquired by Rapids 2 this past July from FC Cincinnati 2, where he spent the beginning of the 2026 season. Since joining, Dowd has made four appearances for Rapids 2 with 450 minutes logged.
Per the 2026 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations, a club may sign a player, aged 25 or younger during the league season, from its affiliate (MLS NEXT Pro) to a maximum of four Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (maximum of 16 days). An individual player may be included on up to four MLS league season match rosters each season, however, that player may appear in no more than two MLS league season matches. An individual player may appear in any number of non-league games during the terms of his four Short-Term Agreements.
