COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Colorado Rapids forward Georgi Minoungou has been called up to the Burkina Faso Men’s National Team. He joined the group on September 21 and will return following their final match of the window on October 3. Â
The winger joined his nation for a pair of AFCON qualifying matches as well as an additional friendly. Burkina Faso will start their slate of matches against Benin on September 25 and then move on to their second and final AFCON qualifier of this window against Central African Republic on September 28. The country will then close their matches for this window with a friendly against Argentina on October 3.Â
Minoungou, 24, has been a regular with Burkina Faso as of late, featuring for the group consistently since receiving his first call up to the senior national team in September of 2025. Minougou has made ten appearances for his nation, four of which came in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations last year.Â
Since being acquired by the Rapids via trade with the Seattle Sounders on March 27, Minoungou has made 24 appearances for the club across all competitions. His first goal for Colorado came on April 26 in U.S. Open Cup play against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
