COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Colorado Rapids midfielder Wayne Frederick has been named to the Trinidad & Tobago National Team for its upcoming Concacaf Nations League matches, the association announced today. Frederick will join the group from September 21 to October 5 for four matches under Head Coach Derek King.
The Soca Warriors will kick off their Group A schedule with a matchup against Haiti in Kingston, Jamaica, on September 24. The group will return home for a contest against the Dominican Republic on September 27 before rounding out their schedule for this window. Trinidad & Tobago will then face off against Curacao in back-to-back matches, on the road on October 1 and at home on October 4.
Frederick, 22, has received numerous call ups to his nation’s senior national team since making his international debut in December of 2024 in a friendly against Saudi Arabia. During his time with Trinidad & Tobago he has featured in key matchups, including his most recent appearances with the country for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers back in November of 2025.
The midfielder is in the middle of a breakout year with the Rapids, setting single-season career highs in just about every category. This season, Frederick has topped his previous bests in starts (16), appearances (22), minutes (1,460), goals (2), and assists (5). This season, Frederick signed a new contract with the club 2029-30 MLS season, with a club option for 2030-31.
