After a long wait, the Colorado Rapids finally have their first match of the 2021 Major League Soccer season on the schedule.
The Rapids will travel to Toyota Stadium on Saturday, April 17, to take on FC Dallas in their season opener. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. EST and the match will be broadcast live on Altitude TV & Radio. Robin Fraser’s men will then welcome expansion side Austin FC at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, April 24, at 9 p.m. EST for their first home match of 2021.
Colorado are 15-3-7 (W-L-D) all-time in home openers and are unbeaten in their last seven, going 4-0-3. In last year’s home opener, newly arrived midfielder Younes Namli scored his first goal in Burgundy, while club icon Drew Moor added another in stoppage time to give Colorado a dramatic 2-1 win over Orlando City SC
The 2021 MLS season will feature 34 regular season games, including 17 at home and 17 on the road. Austin will compete in the Western Conference, bringing the total to 13 teams in the West and 14 in the East. The full 2021 MLS regular season schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
The Colorado Rapids, along with the rest of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, continue to work closely with state and local authorities to navigate the safest return to hosting fans in its venues. Fans can sign up for the club’s single-game priority list to receive first access to tickets in the event fans are able to return to Rapids games during the 2021 season.
