Colorado Rapids sign goalkeeper Adam Beaudry to a Homegrown player contract

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today the signing of 17-year-old goalkeeper Adam Beaudry to a four-year Homegrown Player contract with an option for two additional years.

“We have been very impressed by Adam’s work ethic and unwavering commitment to learning. His extensive experience on the youth international stage adds tremendous value to his skill set,” said Colorado Rapids President Pádraig Smith. “He’s got a bright future ahead of him and we look forward to seeing his continued development here at home with the club.”

Beaudry, is entering his second year with the Rapids organization after making his professional debut with Rapids 2 on April 30, 2023, against North Texas SC. Throughout the 2023 season, he featured in 16 matches (16 starts) for Rapids 2, achieving three clean sheets and contributing to his team's No. 1 overall seed in MLS NEXT Pro. His outstanding performances earned Beaudry the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month award for both May and July, along with a Rising Star of Matchday award for Matchday 16. He was also recognized as a finalist for 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Year. Prior to joining Rapids 2, Beaudry had a successful youth career with Real Colorado and spent a season with the Rapids Academy’s U-17 team. Additionally, he was named the club’s Academy Player of the Year for 2023.

“It was important for us to keep Adam here in Colorado and we’re happy to add him to the first team. He is a bright, young, talented goalkeeper who also has the right attitude that can help him maximize his potential,” said Rapids Head Coach, Chris Armas.

At the youth international level, Beaudry has represented the U.S. at the U-17 level. Most recently, Beaudry had the opportunity to train and compete with the U.S. U-17 Men’s Youth National Team during the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. The team made a run all the way to the knockout stage before dropping a match to Germany in the Round of 16. Beaudry logged three starts for the U-17s during the World Cup. The U.S. qualified for the FIFA U-17 World Cup by reaching the final at February’s Concacaf U-17 Championship in Guatemala. During his time at the Concacaf U-17 Championship, Beaudry helped his team to a spot in the final where the U.S. fell short to Mexico in a 3-1 loss. The Rapids goalkeeper made three starts for the U-17s during the tournament and recorded two clean sheets and three wins for his side.

The Castle Pines, Colorado native will participate in a media event on February. 27.
