Colorado Rapids vs Portland Timbers | Recap | May 26, 2018

Samuel Armenteros is unlikely to forget his two most recent matches any time soon.

The Portland Timbers forward followed up his late game winner last week by netting a brace in the first half, leading the Timbers to a 3-2 win over the slumping Colorado Rapids for Portland's sixth straight win.

Diego Valeri added his fifth goal of the season in the 56th minute after an accidental giveaway led to a counter led by the Timbers' Sebastian Blanco, who crossed wide to Valeri for Blanco's third assist of the match.

Timbers' defender Julio Cascante back-footed Edgar Castillo's cross into the net in the first half for the Rapids' first goal. Colorado has lost six straight.

The Rapids' Yannick Boli had a goal disallowed on video review in the final minutes, then put away a penalty on the final play before the final whistle.
