Development Academy Update | June 19, 2019 -

The Rapids Development Academy U-15s had a historic season as they ended at the top of the Central Conference Frontier Division with an unbeaten record of 19-0-2, scoring 59 goals. Their record was the second best in the country awarding the team the No. 2 seed in the Development Academy Playoffs. The U-15 boys playoffs are being held for the first time in DA history.

"The club is very proud of what this group of players has accomplished to this point and the manner in which they have represented the club over the course of the season," Academy Technical Director Chris Cartlidge said. "The players have found ways to compete and win games all year long. The players are excited for the challenges that lie ahead in the playoffs.”

The Rapids U-15s will open the tournament against the Chicago Fire Academy on Thursday, June 20 at 1:00 PM, following a battle with the Philadelphia Union U-15s on June 21 at 5:15 PM and will conclude playoffs on Sunday against Los Angeles FC's Academy at 1:00 PM.

"We will see three very good teams with each opponent providing a different challenge," Cartlidge said. "The players will gain valuable experience that can only help them take the next step in their development.”
