Life with the Rapids may mean a switch of allegiance for Burch

Marc Burch

Marc Burch heads to Houston with his new teammates on Friday, knowing that he may have to run the gauntlet over the weekend when his Seattle Seahawks face the Denver Broncos in the Superbowl.

“It’s nice to see those two teams (in the Superbowl),” he told ColoradoRapids.com with a smile. “I’m still a bit of a Seahawks fans, but I can be persuaded, so we’ll see how the game goes on Sunday.”

By the time the Broncos battle the Seahawks in New Jersey, Burch and the Rapids will have tackled the Dynamo in the first real action of preseason.

The 29-year-old defender arrived from the Seattle Sounders during the offseason. An experienced player, with time at LA Galaxy, Columbus Crew and DC United to his name, he has swiftly settled into his new life in Colorado.

“The weather’s been awesome, the atmosphere’s been great, the coaching staff’s been awesome and the players have been great,” he added.

“It’s great to meet new faces and get along with guys. It’s an easy transition when there’s guys like that in the locker room.”
