Charlotte Independence kept the good times rolling on Saturday with a 1-0 win at Ottawa Fury, to register a fourth success on the bounce.

The Canadian club had gone six games without defeat, but that came to an end when Yann Ekra drilled in the contest’s only goal with just seven minutes remaining.

Andrew Dykstra and Sam Vines, both on loan from the Rapids, played the entire match for the USL affiliate.

Victory lifted the Independence to fourth in the Eastern Conference. They sit just three points behind leaders FC Cincinnati, but with a game in hand. They continue their three-game road stretch with a trip to New York Red Bulls II this Saturday.

Mike da Fonte, on loan for the season at Phoenix Rising FC, went the distance last Wednesday as the team snapped a two-game losing streak. Goals from Chris Cortez, Solomon Asante, and Jason Johnson ensured a 3-1 win at Saint Louis FC.

Phoenix are back on the road this Saturday, to face Sacramento Republic FC. The teams met at Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex in mid-May, with the California club claiming a 3-1 win.
