Mexico names 22 for match against Bolivia at DSGP

Miguel Herrera

Four players have been called into Mexico's squad for the first time ahead of two forthcoming friendly internationals, the second of which is at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Tuesday September 9 (TICKETS).

The new faces include 21-year-old Erick Torres of Chivas USA, who has scored 14 goals in 24 appearances for the MLS strugglers this season. He was on target for the California-based club back in May, when Chivas triumphed 3-1 over the Colorado Rapids in Commerce City.

Mexico's first action since the World Cup will be against Chile in Santa Clara, California on September 6. They then tackle Bolivia at the Rapids' stadium three days later. El Tri reached the Round of 16 in Brazil, before bowing out to the Netherlands 2-1.

This will be Mexico’s third visit to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, having defeated Bolivia 5-1 on March 11, 2009 in the most recent visit to the stadium. 'El Tri' lost to Colombia 1-0 on August 22, 2007 in the team’s other match in Commerce City.
