Pablo on US Open Cup exit

On the team’s performance …

Overall, it was a very solid performance. I think there were a couple of moments, especially on the goal, that we could have done better with. At the end of the 90 minutes it ended up defining our result. It was some of the better attacking soccer that we’ve played all year. We created a lot of opportunities, but we need to be able to finish. Hopefully we will build on the performance, and find a way to get a win against Vancouver.

What will it take to get that goal against Vancouver and move forward?

You’ve just got to keep plugging. I think the most important thing is putting yourself in front of the goal. It’s going to take one moment of brilliance for the ball to bounce off someone and go in, and at the moment it is just not happening for us. Between the 18’s we were very good tonight. I thought we controlled the game in every aspect. It is gut wrenching to me to see our team play so well and put so much effort into a game, and come away with zero points. It seems like it has just been that way, and we’ve got to find a way to break this spell and move forward. We had some very good individual performances- I think that inspired the rest of the group. I’m very excited about this group moving forward.
