The Colorado Rapids (10-12-1, 31 pts., 7th West) continue their busy schedule with a midweek match on the road against Austin FC (6-10-7, 25 pts., 14th West) on Wednesday, September 9. Kickoff at Q2 Stadium is set for 6:30 p.m. MT, with coverage available on Apple TV, Altitude Sports Radio, ColoradoRapids.com, and the Colorado Rapids app.

Colorado enters this contest looking to bounce back from their most recent result, a 3-0 loss on the road to the Columbus Crew this past weekend. Despite the loss, the result is not indicative of the club’s overall form since returning to play following the FIFA World Cup break in the schedule. In their eight matches since the restart, Colorado has posted a 5-3-0 record, with all five victories being clean sheets.

One of the Colorado’s wins as of late came against this Austin FC side back in early August at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids and Austin battled all match long in the contest, with Colorado eventually coming out on top in stoppage time of the second half thanks to a penalty kick opportunity. The clean sheet victory marked the second of what would end up being five consecutive home clean sheets for the Rapids.

On the other end of this matchup is an Austin FC side that has found their form over the past month of play in MLS. After starting off the season slow, the club has now produced consistent results for the first time this year. Austin is unbeaten in their last four MLS matches with two wins and two draws. Their most recent result came at home this past weekend, when a last-minute goal earned them a point against the San Jose Earthquakes.

The Rapids have seen success at Q2 Stadium since its opening in 2021, with Colorado holding a 2-1-2 record there. The club won their most recent contest there last year, securing all three points in a 1-0 victory in March of 2025.
