SPECIFIC UPDATES - MARCH 2 HOME OPENER

Honoring Joan Dobrzynski

The club will honor superfan Joan Dobryznski during the March 2 match and throughout the season. Dobryznski passed away on January 15 after a battle with leukemia. She was a dedicated Season Ticket Member and Centennial 38 member for over two decades. As part of the club’s efforts to celebrate Joan’s life, there will be a moment of silence before kickoff, a custom jersey as part of the player Starting XI photo and C38 will drop a tifo in the 38th minute in Section 108. During home matches this season, Joan’s seat will have a custom ‘Joan 38’ placed in her honor.

One Flag Giveaway Courtesy of UCHealth

On March 2, the first 15,000 fans will get a commemorative checkered flag courtesy of UCHealth. Make sure to get to the stadium early to celebrate the club’s first match in the new One Flag Kit.

New Exclusive Season Ticket Member Pack

To show appreciation to loyal Season Ticket Members, the club is gifting all STMs an exclusive 2024 Rapids Member Pack! Packs include a Stadium Tote and each of the following items based on the number of seats in the account: Legacy Patch, Member Matchday Flag, Bleed Burgundy Bandana, and Classic Scarf Sticker. It's highly recommended avoiding long lines on March 2 by picking up Member Packs at one of the Pack Pickup events leading up to the season. If you can't make the Pickup dates, please stop by Season Ticket Member HQ at the top of Section 119 at any early season match and pick your Member Pack!

Club & Supporter Traditions

10.21.23_Rapids_RSL_Bty_161

Man of the Match Oar

  • The Centennial 38 Man of the Match Oar is a custom wooden oar that is painted specifically for each match. The Oar makes its way from C38 to the Rapids team captain before the procession. The captain then hands it to the ‘Oar Captain’ who places it above C38’s section for the match. When the final whistle sounds, the Oar is presented to that game’s Man of the Match.

Scarves Up

  • Welcome the players to the pitch during the pregame procession by raising your scarf in support.

Tifo

  • Watch for the tifo banner that Centennial 38 unveils ahead of certain home matches. The artwork on each banner is custom and takes many artists weeks to create. C38 members unveil the massive artwork just before kickoff for an incredible display of support and a photo opportunity for the stadium.

Kickoff Chant

  • Get the players amped for kickoff by participating in a full-stadium chant right before the whistle led by C38. COLORADDDDDDOOO....RAPPPPPPPIDS!

Corner Kick Clap

  • Join the stadium in a booming Rocky Mountain thunderclap ahead of each Rapids corner kick. The energy in the stadium picks up the players during a big set piece.

Boo the Left Back

  • Make sure to boo the opposition’s left back throughout the match.

Pyro & Smoke

  • Make sure to be in your seat for the pregame on-field fireworks and watch the smoke after big moments coming from Centennial 38’s section.

Rocky Mountain High & the Oar Ceremony

  • Make sure to read about these two traditions below.

AFTER THE MATCH

Rocky Mountain High

This year, the Rapids will pay homage to Colorado with the playing of the iconic John Denver song “Rocky Mountain High” after every home game. Sing along with us, win, lose or draw to show your pride for the beautiful place we call home!

Oar Ceremony

5.13.23_Rapids_Ellwood_1143 (1)

The Oar Ceremony is one of the most unique traditions in sports, thanks to Centennial 38. They will present the Man of the Match with a custom oar following each match.

Player Thank You

Make sure to stick around to the final whistle to share a moment with the players. Win, loss or draw they want to thank fans for their support during that match with a lap of thanks. Sometimes they’ll even sign a few autographs and snap a few selfies!

Meet the Players

Players will continue to make postgame appearances at various locations throughout DSGP in 2024. Appearances include an exclusive meet and greet in the American Family Summit Club, and a public meet and greet at The Dale’s Bar. Check the Rapids’ social media accounts for the player each match.

Postgame North Boundary Patio

Following the match, all fans are welcome to access the North Boundary, the only field-level patio in Denver sports. Grab a drink from one of the bars in the North Boundary and enjoy the field level views as our gameday DJ continues to play music throughout the stadium postgame.

Hear from the Boss

The Rapids will livestream the postgame press conference on the club’s YouTube page immediately following the match. Catch the postgame commentary from Head Coach Chris Armas and a player at YouTube.com/ColoradoRapids.
