"A matter of time": Gyasi Zardes rounding into form for Colorado Rapids

“Don’t look now, but Gyasi Zardes is heating up for the Colorado Rapids.

The striker now has two goals and an assist in his last three games, the latest of which was the insurance tally in a 2-0 win over the LA Galaxy Saturday night at home. Beforehand, his assist helped salvage a 2-2 draw at Real Salt Lake and his other goal pulled level in a 1-1 draw vs. Orlando City SC.

This upward momentum, as measured via boxscore stats, was inevitable, in head coach Robin Fraser’s view.”

Colorado Rapids’ attack finds electric spark as Diego Rubio, Gyasi Zardes score in 2-0 win against LA Galaxy

“That electric, mid-summer atmosphere at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park came out in full force Saturday. The Colorado Rapids’ forwards were determined to help the crowd reach a fever pitch.

The sold-out crowd of 17,795 helped propel the Rapids attack, and Diego Rubio and Gyasi Zardes did the rest as both scored in Colorado’s 2-0 victory over the LA Galaxy. Colorado ended its run of six games without a win dating back to May and kept its playoff hopes alive.”

Colorado Rapids use complete performance to beat Galaxy, record first win since May

“Robin Fraser got the type of performance he’s been looking for in a 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

‘One of the goals, certainly, has been to continue to improve, but with regard to consistency, it’s have a solid performance in the back and a good performance up front and sustain it for 90 minutes,” the Rapids coach said.

‘Really proud of our group for the commitment, the engagement, the execution.’”

Relentless Rapids dominate L.A. Galaxy, inch up the table

“Before a near-capacity audience at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Robin Fraser’s side mirrored a high-energy crowd and dominated the Los Angeles Galaxy throughout their 2-0 win. His Colorado Rapids team delivered both nose-to-nose intensity and consistency that most of this season has been lacking. The palatable victory for all brought back not too distant memories of the Rapids’ play in the final months of the 2021 season.”
