ORLANDO, Florida – The Rapids put together a 2-2 performance against USL side Hartford Athletic with several players getting significant minutes on the pitch on Wednesday. The match was highlighted by a brace from forward Jonathan Lewis.

Scoring in each half, Lewis added his fourth and fifth goals of preseason. The first came in the 39th minute thanks to the Rapids’ high press, forcing a turnover in Hartford territory, where Lewis capitalized for the point.

In the second half, Kévin Cabral was fouled inside the box, drawing a penalty kick opportunity, which Lewis took—his second of the preseason. Sneaking it just under the keeper, Lewis found the back of the net for a brace.

Hartford also recorded goals in each frame, one at the 15-minute mark and then an equalizer in the 69th minute.

The Rapids wrap up their preseason competition on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MT in a closed-door match against Orlando City at Inter&Co Stadium.
