The Big Picture

  • The Rapids took on Columbus Crew SC in a closed-door scrimmage in Florida to continue their preseason campaign under new head coach Matt Wells.
  • The scrimmage consisted of a 45-minute first period, a 30-minute second period, and a 45-minute third period. The first Starting XI played through the first two periods, with a fresh lineup taking on the third and final period. 
  • Alexis Manyoma scored his first goal with the Rapids in the final minutes of the scrimmage, finding a shot through Columbus traffic in the box. 
  • Newly-acquired midfielder Hamzat Ojediran played his first competitive minutes with his new squad, featuring in the third period's lineup to close out the match.
