Recap: Multiple Key Players Return as Rapids Draw LA in Visit Tucson Sun Cup -

Quick Read:

Cole Bassett’s second-half equalizer secured a 2-2 draw against LA Galaxy on Wednesday. The 19-year-old midfielder put away a centering pass from winger Jonathan Lewis, who played his first preseason match after returning from international duty with the U.S. U-23 MNT. In the first half, Michael Barrios leveled the score at 1 with a tap-in after Sam Vines found him at the far post. The Rapids will close out preseason with a scrimmage against Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday.

“I thought it was a good performance. We kept the ball really well. It was better than Salt Lake. In both halves, we created chances, and with that finishing touch, we walk away from that game with a win.” - Jonathan Lewis

63' - GOAL - We all knew this was coming, right? Lewis works it up the left wing, chips it behind and Bassett's volley is in the back of the net. Tied once again, 2-2.

64' - Bassett is finding his groove. Benezet takes it up the right wing and finds Bassett, whose roundhouse kick is off the bar. What a goal that would’ve been.
