2017.10.23 Ten things

By the numbers: here are 10 stats from the Colorado Rapids' 3-0 loss to Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field on Sunday afternoon.

1. The Rapids were awarded only their second penalty of the season. This equaled the fewest number of spot kicks throughout a season in franchise history (2001 and 2015).

2. Veteran forward Alan Gordon replaced Mike da Fonte, and played the last 33 minutes, enough to take him past 13,000 career minutes.

3.Tim Howard faced a 13th penalty kick in his 42nd appearance for the Rapids. When originally in MLS, between 1998-2003, he faced 10 spot kicks in 85 appearances with the Metrostars.

4.Marlon Hairston was the only Rapids player to feature in all 34 games, starting 29 of them.

5. By playing the entire game on Sunday, Hairston moved to 2,605 minutes for the season, which was more than he had managed in his previous three MLS campaigns combined.

6. Similar to Hairston, leading scorer Dominique Badji played more minutes this season (2,540) than his previous two seasons combined.

7.Axel Sjöberg became the sixth dismissal for the Rapids this season. This is the second-highest number of red cards in franchise history

8. With a road record of 1-14-2, the Rapids recorded their fewest wins and lowest points tally away from home in franchise history.

9. With the 3-0 reversal, the Rapids were shutout on the road for the 10th time in 17 games.

10. With the three goals conceded, the Rapids finished the season with a minus 20 goal difference, which is the greatest in franchise history.
