COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, February 6, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids are thanking their most loyal fans with a unique opportunity to “Be Part of the Fabric of the Team,” as the club will feature the names of its Season Ticket holders on the 2013-2014 home jerseys. All fans that have renewed their season tickets for the 2012 season, as well as those that purchase new seats by March 1, 2012, will have their names printed into the design of the Rapids authentic home jerseys in 2013 and 2014.
“This is a unique and special opportunity to have our loyal supporters on the pitch with our players in seasons ahead,” said Rapids President Tim Hinchey. “Our season ticket holders are the lifeblood of this organization. For our fans to take the pitch with our first team players truly exemplifies our ‘One Club’ mentality moving forward. We think our fans will enjoy the new design of our uniforms in 2013, and will be excited to find their names on the home jerseys.”
The “ONE CLUB” thank you campaign was announced on Monday afternoon outside the Denver Pavilions on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver, with 9News Sports Anchor Susie Wargin hosting a special launch event. Supporters and shoppers had the chance to sign their name on a giant Rapids jersey, meet Rapids staff, and purchase Season Tickets.
The new Rapids uniforms in 2013, made by adidas, will continue to have a primary color of burgundy on the home shirts, with a tweak in design that will allow Rapids Season Ticket holders’ names to appear in shading. One name per Season Ticket account will be added, and the names will only appear on the authentic home jerseys worn by the team and available for sale at authorized retailers; replica jerseys will not feature fans’ names. The new uniforms will be debuted at an event in early 2013.
More information on the “ONE CLUB” thank you campaign is available by contacting the Rapids at 303-825-GOAL, and Season Tickets can be purchased by calling the club or online HERE. All fans that purchase Season Tickets by March 1, 2012 will have the opportunity to see their name on the Rapids’ shirts.
