Five more college players signed with MLS

MLS signs top college players ahead of SuperDraft

The player the Colorado Rapids will draft with the #6 overall pick in the MLS SuperDraft on January 17 may already be signed.

Major League Soccer has announced that seven players have signed Generation adidas contracts and five other top collegate players have also signed to play in MLS in 2013. All are expected to participate in the MLS Combine and enter the professional ranks through the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, which will take place at the Indiana Convention Center on Thursday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. MT.

One key potential difference between Generation adidas players and other signings is that Generation adidas players do not count toward a team's salary budget, which is used to sign up to 20 players on a team's 30-man roster. Other players may or may not count, pending age and the amount they will earn. SEE MLS ROSTER RULES.

The Rapids have three picks in the two-round draft, including the 6th, 25th, and 30th overall selections.
