Academy 18s Recap: 18s face Rush Saturday at 10 am

The Colorado Rapids U-18 Development Academy team faces Colorado Rush this weekend in a local derby at the Sedalia Polo Fields on Saturday at 10 a.m. MT. The U-18s hold a current 2-4-4  record with six games remaining before the winter break.

On Oct. 25, the Rapids earned a 1-0 victory against Texans SC Houston at home with a Jacob Hanlin game-winner, who leads the team with five goals this season. Two days later, the squad fell 3-1 to the Houston Dynamo. The following weekend, the U-18s suffered a 4-1 loss to Solar Chelsea SC on Nov. 2 but were able to hold FC Dallas to a 1-1 on the 3rd.

After having a weekend off with a bye in the schedule, the Rapids will return to action looking to improve their current standing of 10th in the Frontier division of the Central Conference. They’ll play six more games in 2013, including the Development Academy Winter Showcase and Nike International Friendlies in December before breaking until March 2014.
