As the LA Rams and the New England Patriots prepare to collide in Super Bowl LIII Sunday, February 3, a few of the Rapids players were busy making their predictions for the big game. Will the LA Rams take home their first Lombardi Trophy since 1999, or will the New England Patriots walk away with their sixth title under Tom Brady and Bill Belichick?
Here's what they think:
Cole Bassett - Rams
I'll go with the Rams because they have a young coach and I hate the Patriots even though my family's from Boston. We'll go 31-27, close game and Todd Gurley takes home the MVP, go Rams!
Benny Feilhaber - Patriots
Well sadly I'm going to say the Patriots are going to win again, it's getting kind of boring. I don't know, I just think there's something with Brady and the coaching staff, they're always able to slow down whatever the other team's good at. They're very smart in how they set up tactically and I think coaching's a huge part, especially in playoff games. Brady will do his thing and the defense will slow down the Rams offense and they'll come out ahead 23-20, Brady wins MVP.
Shkëlzen Gashi - Rams
I'll say the LA Rams because they're the better team and they have the same owner as us! Score is hard to say, but I'd say something like 27-23 and the MVP is definitely our old teammate from the Denver Broncos, Aqib Talib.
Jack Price - Patriots
I'll say the Patriots because of Tom Brady, I don't know much about it but I know he's quite good. He wins MVP and they win 20-14.
Sammy Vines - Rams
I'm going to go with the Rams, I think they pull it off, I think they're going to blow them out. I'm a Steelers fan so I'm against the Patriots and I don't want them to have more Super Bowls than us. Tom Brady's the GOAT, but I'm going with the Rams 33-10 and Gurley wins MVP.
