Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced today that Sebastian Anderson has been loaned to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the USL Championship (USL) for their match this Saturday, October 5 against LA Galaxy II. Under the terms of the loan agreement, the Rapids retain the right to recall Anderson at any point and expect him to be available for selection on MLS Decision Day when the MLS side faces LAFC on Sunday afternoon.

“This is a great opportunity to provide one of our promising, young talents with valuable minutes,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive Vice President & General Manager. “Seb has already impressed many with his performances during his rookie season and with the U-17 World Cup coming up we want to give him the best opportunity to push for his place on that roster.”

Anderson, 17, became the youngest player in club history to make his MLS debut on April 27, 2019. He scored his first professional goal on July 20, 2019 against NYCFC.

The Rapids face LAFC this Sunday, October 6 at Banc of California Stadium with kickoff slated for 2:00 PM MT.
