Transamerica and the Colorado Rapids announced today a one-year extension to their sponsorship deal. As part of the agreement, Transamerica’s logo will continue to be featured on Rapids uniforms, as well as throughout DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. Financial terms of the sponsorship deal were not disclosed.
“We are thrilled to extend our agreement with Transamerica into 2020,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive Vice President & General Manager. “We could not have asked for a better supporter of the club over these past five years. As we enter what we believe will be an exciting year for the club, we’re grateful to be able to count on the great relationship we have built with Transamerica.”
Transamerica is one of the world's leading financial services companies, providing insurance, investment and retirement solutions to more than 19.5 million customers. The company has been the Rapids’ jersey sponsor since 2015.
“We are delighted to extend our commitment to the Colorado Rapids and Major League Soccer as the sport continues to expand and flourish,” said Brian Forbes, Director of Sponsorship and Thought Leadership at Transamerica. “We recognize the important role healthy activity plays in all our lives. Soccer is a great fit for Transamerica, as it aligns perfectly with our passion for the wellbeing of our customers and their communities.”
The Rapids kick off their 25th MLS season on February 29 at D.C. United before hosting their first game of the season at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park on March 7.
