Colorado Rapids Sign 18-Year-Old Midfielder Will Vint to Homegrown Contract -

The Colorado Rapids announced today the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Will Vint to a Homegrown Player contract after the club acquired his Homegrown rights from Atlanta United in exchange for a 2022 MLS SuperDraft fourth round pick.

“Will is a promising, young talent with a high ceiling,” said Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids EVP & General Manager. “For him to have previously earned an opportunity with the academy of a club like Manchester United goes to show his potential and why we’re excited to have him join the Rapids.”

Vint joins the Rapids after spending last season with Atlanta United 2 while part of the MLS side’s youth academy. The central midfielder, who grew up in Colorado Springs, made 16 appearances for Atlanta United 2, recording a goal and an assist.

Prior to joining Atlanta United’s academy, Vint spent two years with Manchester United’s youth academy following a trial with the English Premier League side. Born in Chandler, Arizona, Vint moved to Colorado when he was three and was a product of local youth sides Real Colorado and Pride Soccer.

Vint will be officially presented as a Rapids Homegrown Player a press event today at 3:30 PM at Dairy Block (1821 Blake St - Suite 100) in Downtown Denver.
