Dream of playing in Major League Soccer? Now, you can train like an MLS player.

Major League Soccer launched “Train with MLS,” a comprehensive digital experience that features hundred of training videos from MLS clubs for coaches, parents and recreational players of all ages and abilities.

With world-class coaching provided from MLS clubs and first-team coaches, “Train with MLS” is a central location for youth players, parents and coaches to find drills, workouts, coaching tips and fun soccer activities. The initial library features hundreds of videos with new content added each week. It is organized in easy-to-understand categories, including Ball Mastery, Dribbling, Fitness and more.

“We are proud to provide premium development content to soccer players through the ‘Train With MLS’ initiative,” said Fred Lipka, MLS VP of youth development, player relations and competition, in a statement. “Investing and innovating in player development is core to Major League Soccer. We view ‘Train With MLS’ as an essential resource for parents, rising players and coaches.”

Skills are grouped Ito three difficulty groups — fundamental, intermediate and advanced — with workouts ranging from 30 seconds to 20 minutes or longer. Training can be customized for the athlete’s skillset. For example, the youth recreational player can work on basic toe-taps to increase ball control skills in the Ball Mastery section. More advanced players can work on more difficult first touch drills using cones.

In addition, “Train with MLS” features mental fitness programs, strength training and cardio workouts, as well as weekly coaching tips with more advanced training topics and discussions. Each week coaches will share career stories, practice plans, new interactive activities and more.

All content featured in the portal has been reviewed, analyzed and ranked by the MLS’ Player Relations and Competition Department, and top coaches across the league.
