Robin Fraser's Continued Leadership Earns Him Rapids All-Time Best XI Honors

Robin Fraser's natural leadership qualities have earned him a spot in the Rapids All-Time Best XI as a defender. The Kingston, Jamaica native spent 10 seasons in Major League Soccer and earned 27 caps with the US men’s national team. His ability to read the game and propel the unit to success marks him as one of the best players in club history and has continued to help him in his coaching career.

Fraser spent most of his professional playing career in Colorado. Before MLS, Fraser spent seven years in the American Soccer League, six with the Colorado Foxes. He was named an APSL All-Star for four straight years (1992-95). He came to the Rapids in 2001, where he spent two years playing a total of 54 matches, starting 53. During his time at the club, Fraser anchored the backline, helping the team make it to the postseason in both the years he was with the Rapids, where he started all seven postseason matches.

Beyond the Rapids, Fraser spent time with the Galaxy (1996-2000) and Columbus Crew (2004-05). During his career, he was named to the MLS Best XI five times and was named Defender of Year twice. He was also a five-time MLS All-Star. In 2004, Fraser captained the Crew as they won the MLS Supporters’ Shield.

For his coaching career, Fraser has over 12 years of experience in MLS. He has boasted eight MLS Cup Playoff berths, taken home two Supporters’ Shields, won three Canadian Championships, reached the CONCACAF Champions League final, and competed in three MLS Cup finals, ultimately winning two MLS Cups.

It is no doubt that his leadership ability as a player with the Colorado Foxes and Rapids and subsequently now as a head coach for the club has had a major impact on the trajectory of Colorado soccer and rightfully earns him a spot in the club's Best XI.
