Community Team of the Month Presented by BODYARMOR | July 2020

Our July Community Team of the Month is made up of four local heroes impacting their community in unique ways - from working to ensure food deliveries to those in need to healthcare providers helping those impacted by COVID-19.


This month, we're honoring Jim Scharper, Masaki “Mac” Hemmi, Kelli Anderson and Stephanie Rosch.

Community Team of the Month Presented by BODYARMOR | July 2020 -

Jim Scharper is the founder of Feeding Denver's Hungry and has been providing food for the community during this difficult time. He was nominated by his friend Kim Sisneros. 


"Feeding Denver’s Hungry is a group of individuals that get together in lower downtown Denver and serve 800-1000 marginalized youth, elderly, disabled and families in need, whose resources have run out," Sisneros said. "Jim founded it as a way to give back to the community."

Masaki “Mac” Hemmi is the men's assistant soccer coach at the University of Denver and has been been spreading positivity around Denver by showcasing the community through social media. He was nominated by his coworker Jose Arenas.


"Masaki "Mac" Hemmi has found ways during these tough times to help inspire others and stay optimistic by providing soccer content through his Instagram across the city of Denver," Arenas said. "Mac has been providing exercises that you can do individually with limited equipment at known venues across the city to bring the spirits up of the Denver community and showcase the city. His account is machemmi if you would like to see the content."

Kelli Anderson is a nurse and was nominated by her son Jacob Garland for all the work she has been doing behind the scenes to help during COVID-19. 


"My mom has been working tirelessly these past couple of months on helping those around her in her community who have been impacted by the virus pandemic with her work as a healthcare nurse," Garland said.

Stephanie Rosch, a teacher and Girl Scout leader, has been helping her colleagues make the best remote classrooms experiences for their students. She was nominated by her daughter Giada Rosch.


"As a Girl Scout leader, she reminds us constantly how to help each other and be kind," Rosch said. "As a teacher, she works with almost every teacher in the school district coaching them and helping them make the best classrooms."
