What do these games mean for the regular season?

Major League Soccer has announced that regular season games will return to home markets following the MLS is Back Tournament, with the Rapids’ first home game scheduled for Saturday, August 22 against Real Salt Lake. In addition to the first match against RSL, MLS announced five other matches for each team. The Rapids play three home matches – against RSL, Sporting KC and the Houston Dynamo – and three away matches – against FC Dallas, the San Jose Earthquakes and RSL – between August 22-September 12. Each match will count toward the 2020 regular season.

Does the season end on September 12?

It’s the hope that Major League Soccer will announce additional regular season matches and playoff schedules in the coming days. We do know that the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs will begin on November 20, culminating with MLS Cup on December 12. MLS has also announced that the regular season will end on November 8th with Decision Day.

Can fans attend the three home matches?

At this time, home games are scheduled to be played at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park with no fans in attendance. The Rapids and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment continue regular consultation with MLS as well as national, and local public health authorities regarding the possibility of having fans attend future home games. While our hope is to play in front of our supporters this season, our primary concern is the well-being of our fans, players, vendors, and staff and every decision will be made from that perspective first and foremost.

Can fans attend the three away matches?

At this time, fan attendance recommendations remain guided by MLS, national, and local public health authorities. Fans can check updates from the first three away matches for the Rapids - FC Dallas, San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake - for their current guidelines around attending matches.
