Playoff Spot Within Reach

Following Sunday's win over Seattle Sounders FC, the Rapids inched closer to securing a spot in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Colorado can clinch a playoff berth tonight with a win or draw at Portland, OR a loss or draw by LA Galaxy in their match against Seattle.

#YouthMovement

Forward Andre Shinyashiki continued his hot streak against Seattle on Sunday. The 23-year-old now has four goals and an assist in his last six games. Homegrown defender Sam vines earned his third assist of the season on Shinyashiki's opening goal on Sunday. The 21-year-old Colorado Springs native continued his Ironman streak as the only player to feature in all 1,440 minutes for the Rapids this season. Homegrown Cole Bassett scored his fifth goal of the 2020 against Seattle, tying forward Jonathan Lewis for the team lead. Bassett headed in captain Jack Price's free kick delivery in the 75th minute to secure the win. The 19-year-old Littleon, Colo. native has made seven consecutive starts and scored four foals and delivered two assists in that span.

Benezet's Impact

Midfielder Nicolas Benezet made his fourth start of 2020 on Sunday against Seattle. The Frenchman picked up an assist on the Rapids' opening goal when he found Sam Vines on the left wing before Vines crossed it to Andre Shinyashiki. It was Benezet's third assist of the season, each of them coming in his last three starts. His performance on Sunday earned him HealthONE Man of the Match.
