Rapids and SNHU Honor Military Families by Sending Appreciation Letters

The Colorado Rapids teamed up with Southern New Hampshire University to honor military families for November's National Veterans and Military Families Appreciation Month. Thanks to SNHU, we are sending messages of appreciation to the men and women who serve in the armed forces, as well as to their families. We welcome fans and veterans alike to submit their thoughts below to thank those who have risked their lives for their country!



Southern New Hampshire University Military Month Activations


Southern New Hampshire University and the Rapids are teaming up to honor service members for National Veterans and Military families month. On our last home game of the season 11/1, the Colorado Rapids honored local veteran Colonel Jim Burling. Jim Burling is a 1975 USAFA grad, from a military family with 7 members contributing over 152 years of service to the US Air Force. Jim served for 27 years working in space operations at 12 different postings in the US and 2 overseas. Trained NASA astronauts for 25 space shuttle missions. Performed spaces in 7 forgein countries. Many programs he supported led directly to the creation of the US's newest service, The US Space Force. Colonel Jim was featured here on our social. SNHU and the Colorado Rapids are proud to recognize Colonel Jim Burling for his military service.
