The Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club provides Rapids After School programming to more than 2,000 youths each year in predominately low-income schools. During the spring and fall seasons, participants got to play against nearby schools every Saturday in an in-house soccer league. If you’re interested in your school participating in the Rapids After School programming, please contact Caitlin Kinser.
Each August, the Colorado Rapids travel from Fort Collins all the way down to Castle Rock hosting a skills clinic each day for the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club members as part of the Rapids Roadshow. After each clinic, participants receive photos and autographs from Colorado Rapids players. In addition to the clinic, the Colorado Rapids Street Team are onsite giving away game tickets and merchandise. 2021 schedule coming soon!
The Dr. Bob Contiguglia Annual Scholarship was created in partnership with Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club in 2018. The scholarship covers 95 percent of registration fees and provides less privileged children with the opportunity to play soccer. Last September, we honored the three scholarship recipients Tatiana Villasenor, Madison Uhlman Novotny, and Jospeph Miranda.
With the support of the Alfred Zarlengo Estate, the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club offers an exclusive Zarlengo Scholarship opportunity for Latino scholar-athletes to join a youth club team. Last fall, they welcomed 48 new players to the program who demonstrated financial need, a lack of quality soccer opportunities and soccer potential. The scholarships are renewed each year with the expectation that each scholar will have regular school attendance and academic excellence or improvement.
