The Colorado Rapids are proud to be honoring and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, which takes place each year from September 15th to October 15th across the United States. As a club, we invite all of you to do the same, through celebration, education, and lifting all voices.

In Colorado, the Hispanic community is a huge part of the makeup of what makes this state so incredible. Whether you’re from Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, or any number of other countries in Latin America, this month in particular honors the diverse histories and cultures that help shape so many communities, neighborhoods, cities and business landscapes.
With independence anniversaries for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua on September 15th, Mexico celebrating their independence on September 16th, and Chile on the 18th, it's got significance scattered all across the month for so many nations and presents an opportunity to celebrate each culture’s unique attributes and traditions!
The Rapids look to honor Hispanic heritage and culture year-round, throughout the month, and are looking forward to everything we have planned for the month. We’ll be celebrating Hispanic heritage in a variety of different ways, at a variety of different locations. The club recognizes that soccer holds an innate ability to bring people of so many backgrounds together at any given moment, which is why we’re proud to be able to get out into the community and share the beautiful game with many Hispanic-driven initiatives.

September 13th – Fiestas Patrias
Traditionally an event held in Colorado Springs; they’ve expanded to join forces with the Mile High Flea Market this year! With an admissions free, patrons could stop by and celebrate Hispanic Heritage with all the incredible vendors and activities, as well as stop by the Colorado Rapids tent for free giveaways.
September 13th–Oct 11th - La Lotería Botánica
The Denver Botanical Gardens are taking a different approach to the traditional Mexican card game, celebrating the connections between plants, culture, food and history.
September 14th – KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
The Colorado Rapids will head to KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy to add to their Hispanic Heritage Month kickoff event with over 100 kids expected in attendance. From games like sub soccer and skee-ball, to giveaways, to a mascot appearance, Rapids will bring an intimate experience to this school in the buildup to Hispanic Heritage Month.
September 30 – Player Appearance with Miguel Navarro at Catira
Come meet one of our very own, Miguel Navarro, from 4:30pm-6:30pm at Catira, a local, Hispanic-owned business, because the only thing better than having a chance to meet a player, is getting familiar with another one of Denver’s many Hispanic-owned establishments and maybe finding your next favorite spot in the process.
June 15th 2026-June 15 2027 – A Century of Art in Latin America
Featured in the Denver Art Museum, you can find this exhibit on level four of the museum’s Martin building. Free for everyone under the age of 18, and museum members, this exhibit captures work during the 20th and current 21st century offering a more varied view of the artistic approaches of the many different cultures the artists embody.
September 17th – Festival de Cine Latino
Hosted at Smoky Hill Library, this event begins on September 17th with international film screenings, and some tasty traditional finger food to go with!
Noche Latina | Saturday, September 19
In support of Hispanic Heritage Month, we will be hosting Noche Latina on Saturday, September 19, presented by American Family Insurance, during our matchup with Seattle! Come celebrate with us through music, culture, and community, highlighting the diverse Latin American traditions that shape the Rapids fanbase and the global game, all capped by a postgame fireworks show.
September 19th – Noche Latina
Come join us at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park on September 19th, for our Noche Latina presented by American Family Insurance! With performances from cultural groups, to face painting, lucha libre wrestling, and more, the evening will be filled with cultural experiences and capped off with a win against the Seattle Sounders.
September 23rd – Rapids Reading Day Presented by Colorado Potatoes
Rapids Reading Days presented by Colorado Potatoes brings the excitement of reading to elementary schools with visits from Rapids players. Students enjoy interactive reading sessions, Q&A time, and group photos with their favorite players. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Rapids players Loïc Williams and Miguel Navarro will read classic Spanish childhood books at Adventure Elementary School.
September 26th – Watch Party @ Cheluna Brewing Co.
In need of a spot to come watch the Rapids take on the LA Galaxy? Look no further than Cheluna Brewing, in Stanley Marketplace. Neatly tucked into the large space, this establishment, Hispanic owned and family operated, will be the place to be for our match against the Galaxy. The event will begin at 7pm, with the match set to kickoff at 8:30pm. From giveaways to your first drink on us (while coupons last), make sure to mark this in the calendars!

October 15th – TeamFIT Soccer Clinic Presented by Great Clips
The Rapids will be out for another TeamFIT clinic presented by Great Clips, this time at Bryant Webster Dual Language school. With a Spanish speaking coach and player in attendance, kids will get the chance to work with and learn from the pros.
