International Duty Update | Lewis & Vines earn call-up to USMNT senior camp -

In conjunction with US Soccer, Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced today that Jonathan Lewis and Sam Vines have been named to the annual January US national team training camp.


The Rapids duo will report on January 6 to camp in Bradenton, Florida. The camp will run through the end of the month and culminate with a friendly against Costa Rica in Southern California on February 1. 


Lewis, 22, was a late addition to Gregg Berhalter’s first USMNT camp in January 2019. He made his senior debut as he subbed on in a friendly against Panama on January 27, 2019. Since then, he has made five appearances for the senior team and notched two assists. The Plantation, Florida native recently spent time with the US U-23 squad, where he played in both games of the United International Football Festival, which saw the US fall 1-0 to Brazil, the 2016 Olympic champs, and claim a 4-0 victory over host nation United Gran Canaria.


Vines, 20, will be attending his first MNT camp. On the international stage, the Colorado Springs native has earned call-ups to U-20 and U-23 camps. Most recently, Vines was with the U-23s at the United International Football Festival, where he saw the pitch against Brazil, playing the entire match.
