Ten things we learned from the Rapids' 2-0 loss to FC Dallas

2017.09.28 Ten things

By the numbers: here are 10 stats from the Colorado Rapids' 2-0 loss at Toyota Stadium against FC Dallas on Wednesday night.

1. Stefan Aigner made his first start for the Rapids, going 55 minutes before being replaced by Marlon Hairston.

2. Before coming off the bench in Frisco, Hairston had started the previous five games. He has featured in all 30 games for the Rapids - the only player to do so this season.

3. The Rapids suffered a first MLS loss to FC Dallas in seven meetings. They had not conceded a goal in the three previous league visits to Toyota Stadium.

4. Nana Boateng made just his seventh start in 15 appearances, but he went 90 minutes for the first time in his MLS career.

5. Midfielder Dillon Serna was making his first start since August 23. He played 90 minutes in a MLS for the first time since July 4.

6. Bobby Burling returned to the field. His last game in MLS had been the 1-0 home win over Sporting Kansas City. He had not stepped on the field since injuring his foot in the U.S. Open Cup contest with Oklahoma City Energy on June 13.

7. With just one away win this season, the Rapids need success at Seattle Sounders FC on October 22 to avoid registering their fewest number of road victories. They managed two away wins in seasons 2001, 2006, 2009, and 2014.

8. The Rapids were shutout for the 11th time in 30 games this season.

9. Shkëlzen Gashi came off the bench for the second time in three games. He missed the trip to Vancouver with a hamstring injury. His last start was on September 2 at LA Galaxy.

10. Mohammed Saeid made his 24th start and 25th appearance for the Rapids. This matches the single-club career-high, set with Columbus Crew SC in 2016. He has also made three appearances (all starts) for Minnesota United FC in 2017.
