On a season-long loan from Philadelphia Union, goalkeeper Zac MacMath stepped in the last three games of the 2015 campaign, replacing Clint Irwin. MacMath made his Rapids debut against Colorado Springs Switchbacks in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. He played in both USOC games, but had to wait until the home match with Montreal Impact on October 10 to make his MLS bow for the Rapids. MacMath was beaten by Didier Drogba on that occasion, but claimed his 29th career shutout in his next outing, a 2-0 win at Sporting Kansas City; a match in which he was also a contender for Week 34 'Save of the Week'.
