Rapids Team Administrator Rick Dressel Takes Home 2004 League Award

Denver CO (11-08-04)- Colorado Rapids Team Administrator Rick Dressel was awarded today the 2004 MLS New Haven Travel Team Manager of the Year Award by Major League Soccer.

One of the most valuable and most tenured members of the team staff Rick Dressel handles all of the team’s administration issues from the team’s training center in Westminster CO.

Dressel is responsible for the coordination of the all the team’s travel and lodging logistics and successfully scheduled this year’s spring training trips to Spain and Mexico as well as exhibition matches that included one against the MetroStars in San Antonio Texas.

Now in his ninth season with the Rapids Dressel is the main resource for both rookies and veteran players alike to turn to for help with everything from securing work visas to finding housing.

Dressel also works closely with the Media Relations Team Services and Broadcasting departments helping the Rapids Front Office to coordinate everything from coordinating referees for matches to running the team locker rooms on gamedays to securing travel and lodging for Rapids broadcasters during their coverage of the team.

This is the second time Dressel has taken home the League's highest honor for Team Administrators having also won the award in 2002.
