You asked, we answered.

Fans recently submitted their questions on social media on what they were most curious about ahead of the Rapids’ 2020 season schedule announcement. Below, we highlight the games you won’t want to miss in the upcoming season.

How many home games do we have?

The Rapids’ schedule consists of 34 regular season games, with 17 on the road and 17 at home. The team plays each Western conference opponent twice, home and away, for a total of 24 matches, and then an additional 10 matches against Eastern Conference opponents.

What is the team’s longest road trip? What about longest home stretch?

The team won’t be on the road for more than two games in a row, which occurs  on three separate occasions: April 4 against the New England Revolution and April 11 against Real Salt Lake; May 9 against Seattle Sounders FC and May 16 against New York City FC; and September 16 against Nashville SC and September 19 against LA Galaxy.

The team’s longest home stand will be three games, from August 22 to September 12. On August 22, the Rapids will host Real Salt Lake, followed by Minnesota United FC on August 29 and then Sporting Kansas City on September 12.

What does the end of the season look like?

Colorado will have a hefty number of home games in the second half of the year, which should prove helpful in the case of a playoff push. The Rapids play three home games in the month of July, four home games in August and then two in September. Big matchups to note along that stretch include the final leg of the Rocky Mountain Cup against RSL and home matchups against Sporting Kansas City and Seattle Sounders FC.

When do we play the expansion teams, Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF?

The Rapids have two matches against Western Conference opponent Nashville SC, both in the latter half of the season. Colorado will host the expansion side on Sunday, August 9, and will travel to Music City for a match on Wednesday, September 16. The Rapids do not have any games scheduled against David Beckham’s new team in Miami this year.

Who do we play on the 4th of July?

For the team’s annual 4th of July matchup, the Rapids will host a fellow MLS founding club in the New York Red Bulls. For more information on last season’s 4thFest to know what to expect for this season, click here.

When is the Rocky Mountain Cup against Real Salt Lake?

The first leg of the Rocky Mountain Cup rivalry matchup will take place on Saturday, April 11, in Utah. The final leg — with the trophy on the line — will be played in Colorado on Saturday, August 22. The Rapids will look to regain the Cup this year, having not won it since 2015.

When do we play Seattle?

The Rapids will travel to Seattle to take on the defending MLS Cup Champions on Saturday, May 9. Sounders FC then come to Colorado for the Rapids final home match of the regular season. The game will take place on September 26 at 7:00 PM MT.
