International Update | Jonathan Lewis Called to US U-23s Ahead of 2020 Olympic Qualifying

In conjunction with US Soccer, Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced today that Jonathan Lewis has been named to the US U-23s roster for the 2020 Concacaf Olympic Qualifying Championship. Lewis is among 20 players selected by head coach Jason Kreis.

The US will aim to qualify for their first Olympic Games since 2008 and will open play on March 20 against Costa Rica. The side will then face the Dominican Republic on March 23, and wrap up the group stage on March 26 against Mexico.

Lewis, 22, recently helped the USMNT see out a 1-0 win over Costa Rica on February 1 after he entered the match in the 73rd minute. The appearance marked the sixth USMNT cap for Lewis who made his debut in January 2019. The Plantation, Florida native spent time with the US U-23 squad back in November of 2019, where he played in both games of the United International Football Festival, which saw the US fall 1-0 to Brazil, the 2016 Olympic champs, and claim a 4-0 victory over the host nation United Gran Canaria.
