The Rapids Unified Team will kick off their 14th season on Saturday, May 16 when they travel to face Rocky Mountain rivals, Real Salt Lake Unified! The Rapids won their previous meeting to secure the Unified Rocky Mountain Cup in 2025 on home turf. They will then return home to take on Austin FC Unified directly following the first team's game on August 1 before battling it out with Real Salt Lake one more time on August 29 to close out the 2026 season!
The Rapids Unified Team, which is comprised of players both with and without intellectual disabilities between the ages of 16 and 25, receives training from the Colorado Rapids players and coaches. This exchange program not only provides Special Olympics athletes with top-level training and competitive experiences, but also offers MLS fans an opportunity to witness the talents and abilities of Special Olympics Colorado soccer players first-hand. Through the generosity and financial support of our corporate partners adidas and DICK’S Sporting Goods the program has continued to grow each year. With their backing, the Rapids Unified Team is provided with a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
