Taylor Nugent

Lead Academy Athletic Trainer

Taylor joined the Rapids academy staff in 2024 initially as a Player Development Athletic Trainer before stepping into the Lead Academy Athletic Trainer role shortly after.

While Nugent will oversee the entire academy, her primary focus will be the injury prevention, safety, rehabilitation, and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries for the U16 and U19 teams.

Prior to working with the Rapids, Nugent was in South Korea working as a contractor with the United States Air Force through the Optimizing the Human Weapons System (OHWS) program. Providing support to F-16 pilots within the 36th Fighter Squadron.

Her range of experience extends to USLW, ECNL, NJCAA baseball, Chinese Olympic Judo and Rowing teams, NAIA basketball and NCAA D1 soccer.

Nugent holds several certifications including Corrective Exercise Specialist, Performance Enhancement Specialist, EXOS Performance Specialist, Certified Sports Nutrition Coach, and Functional Range Conditioning Movement Specialist.

She acquired her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Albion College in 2014, followed by her Master of Science in Sports Administration from Louisiana Tech University in 2017.

She spends her free time with her husband Beau and their two dogs, Ajax and Leslie.
