John Rupert

Assistant Academy Athletic Trainer

John Rupert joined the Rapids Academy in July 2024 as an Academy Athletic Training Intern and was promoted to Academy Assistant Athletic Trainer in September 2024. In his current role, John works directly with the U-15, U-14, and U-13 teams, serving as the primary point of contact for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency medical care.

Originally from Missouri, John earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Health Science: Exercise Science from Northwest Missouri State University in 2021. He went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, in 2024, and obtained his Athletic Training Certification in April 2024.

During his graduate studies, John gained valuable clinical experience working with a variety of teams, including the Midland University football, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse programs. He also completed rotations with Creighton University’s Preparatory Academy, and the Sporting Kansas City Academy, SKC II, and Sporting Kansas City First Team.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, John enjoys spending time outdoors and is passionate about hiking, fishing, and camping.
