Andrew Kewley

Futures Program Director

Andrew Kewley joined the Colorado Rapids in January of 2018 as the Alliance Technical Director and Futures Program Director. Andrew oversees all technical aspects of the Rapids Alliance program. Andrew acts as the bridge between the Colorado Rapids and our Alliance member clubs. In this role, Andrew works closely with the technical staff to ensure directors, coaching staff and players alike within the Alliance system are provided with the education, environment and pathway to empower the players to reach their potential and wherever possible the first team ranks. Kewley played an integral role in the launch of the Colorado Rapids Academy Futures program in 2020. The Futures Program is a program that supplements the training and competition received in the players' club environment. The program is designed to support the development of the top players in the U-12 age division.

Prior to coming to the Colorado Rapids, Andrew worked at the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club for five years from 2013 to 2018. For the last two and a half years, Andrew served in the role as the club's Director of Coaching, which saw him oversee all aspects of the technical programming at the Youth Club.

In 2009, Andrew came to Colorado to serve as a Director of Coaching at Colorado Rush, overseeing the north area branch of the club. While at Colorado Rush, Andrew served as an assistant for the W-League team for two seasons and worked in the national Rush Select program, working with a number of players that went on to play in the MLS, WPS and represent the U.S. National Team. In this period Andrew served as a head coach in the Colorado ODP program, a position he also held in Iowa.

From 2007 to 2009, Andrew took the role as an assistant coach at Division I Drake University in Iowa. During his tenure, Drake University was nationally ranked and reached the post-season each of his two seasons. It was also during this period in which Andrew jumped into the youth soccer game as a Director of Coaching, serving as the Boys Director of Coaching for the Iowa Rush.
