COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Colorado Rapids forward Dantouma “Yaya” Toure has undergone successful surgery on his right knee to repair his anterior cruciate ligament, as well as his medial and lateral meniscus, the club announced today. Toure will immediately begin his rehabilitation process and will miss the remainder of the 2022 season.

Toure signed a Homegrown Player contract with the Rapids in March 2021 and made his first team debut in July of that year. The 18-year-old made five appearances with the club this season, recently scoring the game-winning goal in the Rapids’ 5-4 win over the New York Red Bulls on August 2.
