By the numbers: here are 10 stats from the Colorado Rapids' 2-2 tie with Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night.

1. This was the first draw in Commerce City involving these two teams. The Rapids had won seven and lost two of the previous nine meetings.

2.Axel Sjöberg netted the first goal for the Rapids on Saturday. This was his first goal of the season, his first since scoring a late leveler at Vancouver on July 9, 2016, and his first goal at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

3. Irish international striker Kevin Doyle was on target for his fifth goal of the season. It was his third goal against the Whitecaps. He has now scored more goals against Vancouver than any other MLS team. He made his debut against the Canadian team, on May 23, 2015, and also scored his first goal in MLS against Vancouver, on July 4 of that year.

4. The Rapids are without a win in four, and have just one win in seven (1-4-2). During that spell they have played four games at home (1-2-1), and given up nine goals in that time. By comparison, they have conceded just three goals in their three road games.

5.Mohammed Saeid claimed his fourth assist in Rapids colors, in what was his 60th start in MLS.

6. Midfielder Marlon Hairston, who tallied his fourth assist of the season on Saturday, made his 21st appearance of 2017. That equals the number of games he featured in last year, though he has already started more games than in 2016. He is one game shy of equaling career-high appearances (22), which he achieved in his rookie season (2014).

7.John Berner was again on the bench for the Rapids on Saturday. This was the first time that Berner had been back-up to Tim Howard, with regular number two, Zac MacMath recovering from knee surgery.

8. In the previous encounter with the Whitecaps, on May 5, the Rapids had 15 shots, of which just one was on target. They lost the game 1-0. On Saturday, they had 12 shots, with four on target, and scored from two of them.

9. The Rapids welcomed back both Shkëlzen Gashi and Joshua Gatt to the field. Gashi had missed the previous seven games. Gatt, who replaced the Albanian with 19 minutes remaining, had been absent since June 24.

10. Fredy Montero struck his ninth MLS goal of the season, and his fifth all-time against the Rapids. His last goal against Colorado came at CenturyLink Field on July 16, 2011 for Seattle Sounders FC in a 4-3 win.
